Back From Anime Boston

So, UlmightyRed, fallengone, and I back from our long Anime Boston trip! Was this event bigger then last year? Yes it was actually.
Last year 25k people were attending this convention, and this year was 48k from what we've heard from their closing ceremonies. As I said earlier, this years theme was Space Dandy. On Friday and Saturday, I dressed up as Dandy, and earlier today, I decided to give the Meow onesie a shot. I made QT out of paper mache and paint.

We stayed over fallengone's house, and hardly got any sleep since we were so excited, and his puggle Jellybean woke us up throughout the night. (We're still gonna sacrifice her to the Easter King. *Inside Joke*) On Friday, I was running on 1 hour of sleep, and everyone else ran on 3 hours of sleep. Needless to day, we left after 7pm from AB, because we were so sleep deprived. I fell asleep in the Viz event twice We also walked into a knock-off power rangers robo porn movie after 6. I honestly was not expecting that, since the guidebook said it was rated G. We walked out of the movie, cause it got beyond disturbing. It was that bad XD Thee was at least one digimon event, which was awesome!! The Dealer's room was crazy, but I was able to knock off most of the things from my wants list, such as the tastypeachstudio's Kyandii llama plush I've had my eye on for a while I also got my hands on the Banpresto Nidoran plush pair, Manectric plush, and Nurse Audino and Wigglytuff plush too. Got a Mudkip and splurged on a Venusaur MPCs too. UlmightyRed GAVE ME THE CUTEST LITTLE GOLDFISH KEYCHAIN PLUSH AS AN EASTER GIFT <3333 We got on the train, and within one stop, alarms blazed in the subway. Tuns out that there was a water main break, so we had to take the bus which took us back to the train. Blaaaahhh. After we got to Rob's house, he made us fresh tomato and pepper soup, then we headed off to bed. For that day I was Dandy, Sarah was Adelie, and Rob was some guy from an obscure video game that I can't remember off the top of my head. QT was falling apart by the end of the day, so I made some repairs before we went to bed.

Saturday is where it got super busy there. We all dressed up as the Aloha Oe crew. I was Dandy, Sarah was Adelie, and Rob was Meow. We got a ton of photo requests, since according to people there, we were the only full set of the Aloha Oe crew. I still cannot find any pics of us on Tumblr or instagram though. We went to a few events, although they were rather disappointing :/ One was a +18 event, didn't promise the mature content that was described. We went to the dealers room again, and my only purchased was a wobbuffet plush. I've really started to like wobuffet recently. One panel we went to, is when they talked about Bad Anime, called Bad Anime Bad! and there was one anime opening that they showed us that had a very catchy opening theme song XP I want to find it again. It was basically a seagull flying on screen and randomly flashed a woman in it's place. If anybody knows this bad anime opening, please tell me. I only liked the song, and that's it. On our way out, I got hit on by a girl cause I was cross-dressing as a guy. I gently turned her down. We left after 11 pm. QT model held up pretty well, until we got on the train after 11. Unfortunately he wasn't sturdy enough in a train full of Bruins fans on our way back home. Was there a game that night?

Then today, since it was Easter, Anime Boston started a little bit after 8, so we arrived a bit later there. I dressed as Meow, Sarah dressed as Sylveon, and Rob dressed as Miku. Rob kept getting hit on XD he did the best Miku dance! Now all of the panels we went to there were disappointing. one that was wicked exciting, was cancelled because the hosts never showed up. Two weren't as promised in the description. Only thing that we looked forward to was the closing ceremony. We did browse around the dealers room, and I came out with a space dandy scroll poster, and a HUGE giant goldfish plush! Only two booths were selling him, so I decided to get him. I've never heard of the anime the fish was from, so I plan to check it out sometime. I fussed over the fish all day Sarah got a ton of cute stuff! We left after 5 and had a small Anime Boston finalie party at Rob's house. Then we went back home after 9, and well, here I am.

The only complaint about Anime Boston this year were two things: crappy/disappointing panels (I'm looking at you sailor moon panel, with the rude and bitchy host >(((), and some of the staff/volunteers were confusing/rude :/ I just hope they improve on that next year, which is officially announced to happen on March 25-27th, 2016. We plan to do a Digimon theme that year!

Well, back to the normal schedule of MSTY! Expect two pages next Sunday! Not tomorrow or anything, cause I have no pages, and I'm exhausted. Thanks for reading this rambly journal!
